Maybe Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle?

I need ideas. I have to dress up as a storybook character for Halloween at my school. So far I've thought of Mary Poppins, Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus series, Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn, Little Red Riding Hood (Bailey's suggestion), and...yeah that's about it. I teach Reading and can't think of a good storybook character. Help!

There's Rapunzel with very long hair, or Frog and Toad if you want to be an animal. You could be Stephanie from Stephanies Ponytail and wear a weird ponytail on your head. Drawback: Nobody would know who you were except your students. It all sounds fun. Why do I think you would be a good Mary Poppins? lol

Well I have such a good idea! It took me the better part of the morning to remember this book, and then it came to me! When I was younger, we read this book in class. Then, the next day my teacher came dressed as Miss Viola Swamp. ALLL done up in makeup, warts and all in black down to her shoes. It was so awesome, so if you've never read this book, go check it out, it was so funny. "Miss Nelson Is Missing!" By Harry Allard.

DB- only because I'm "practically perfect in every way."

Okay, I think I've come up with a way to be Mary Poppins during the day at school and convert it to a Lizzie Borden creepy costume for the halloween party that night. Same time period, same victorian dress - if I can win the bid on ebay! ha.

Michelle (who posts comments to me on myspace instead of here - ha!) gave me the idea of being Fern from Charlotte's Web - dress in overalls and pigtails and carry a stuffed pig. Good one - I just might do it!
