3 catnip mice
2 ink pens
2 batteries
2 clothespins
1 wine cork

Just imagine what MacGyver could do with all those supplies.

We always find about a dozen straws underneath the couch... courtesy of Abby. Kami doesn't do that. She just eats string and barfs it up in the hallway. What would we do without our cats?

Hey I just came over from Dooce...just wanted to say I feel ya with the teenager. I think I finally figured out that tho I KNOW my daughter can do anything she sets her mind to...well....she has to set her mind to it or nothing happens! aaarrrggghhhh.....I guess that's where the self discipline comes in, and instilling that in a 13 yr old kid who seems to have tried to unlearn everything I ever taught her is frustrating. I think, tho, parenting is cumulative, and you just have to trust that somewhere in that chemical soup that is the teenage brain are all the lessons they've been taught, and it will surface eventually. Sure do wish we didn't have to contend with the kids of parents who don't give a crap. They can undo so many years of anguished parenting in a short space of time, just by being peers. Ah, well, count the blessings, not the drawbacks right :) Love your site...jess
